Title: We Are Raining Puppies Again

MyBoyGus - September 9, 2010 11:19 PM (GMT)
Apparently the rescue is raining puppies. We just got in a batch of 10 weeks olds, they went to another foster, and there are 2 single puppies in the system. They just called me because they are getting in 3 14 week olds tomorrow and they want me to take them. Poor Gus, I don't think he will be happy about it. 3 boy s named Wilbur, Wilson, and Winston. Wish us luck.

I wish you luck. Well, you know we could all use a little smile around here. Maybe Gus won't mind. He's had some time to relax after those other sweeties. Give him a kiss for me.

Oh, sounds like Gus is in for a ride! lol He's such a good sport though he'll be fine with them! Now how about you?? lol

PICS!!

OMG! I should never have looked at those pictures, now I want them all! lol They are sooooo cute! The one with the white on his chest reminds me of a dog we have years ago, Brandy. How is Gus with them? Are they a real handful?

MyBoyGus - September 13, 2010 08:27 PM (GMT)
That is Wilson :laughingsmile Of course they are a handful. They are very sweet, but they are all a bit shy. Wilbur is the most sociable so far. Wilson is doing OK, and Winston needs socialization. They are all getting better. At least they all come up and stand on their back legs to give me kisses and get pets now, but don't try to get hold of them. Gus is not very happy about them being here, he stays away from the puppy pen. He sulked at my friend's house all weekend. He came home last night. He seems happy, as long as he stays away from the pups. He is actually good with them, he growls when he doesn't like what they are doing, and they listen to him, but he doesn't do anything more than growl. If they push it too far he will give them a woof, that is enough for them to listen to their elders. Gus would be fine with 1 at a time, but he isn't crazy when they outnumber him. He is almost 8 now.

Oh goody a nice green hose to chew on. They are just the cuttest little guys. You shouldn't have them for very long. Adorable.

Winston got adopted tonight. He went to a family with 3 kids and they all loved him, although they loved Gus and Holly too. :partysmiley for Winston.

Wilson got adopted tonight. He was the cuddliest one. He went to a vet. So I'm down to just Wilbur now.

Rusty's mom - September 21, 2010 03:07 PM (GMT)
Oh how wonderful to go to a vet. You know he will be taken good care of. :clap

MyBoyGus - September 26, 2010 04:44 PM (GMT)
Wilbur got adopted today. I liked the family and they had a big old black lab/golden mix. Wilbur was a little intimidated by him, but I'm sure they will be best buds in no time. George loved Wilbur.

I am so glad they are all finding good families. Its so important. THanks again for all you do. I wish they had you here. We don't adopt that many out on weekends like you do.. :hugsmiley

The person who found her is a big dog-lover like me and her husband has raised pups before. I'll talk to her tomorrow, but my impression was that she was keeping them until they were old enough to go out on their own, and she won't send them out to just anyone. She just can't be a forever home to ... 8 dogs, she already has another dog. (That's right, mom birthed 3 more pups.) She and her husband have already adopted several dogs through the shelter, so they might be willing to help out a bit, one would hope, as far as getting the word out.
She just said the mom was a mutt, so I don't think there's anything identifiable, so probably no breed rescue.
