Title: Cayenne - 9 Weeks Old

MyBoyGus - June 7, 2010 07:49 PM (GMT)
They are on spices for naming down south. She came in as a single pup, the last one of a litter of 11. I know there wasn't anything I could do for Juliet, but I feel very guilty about it. Gus felt bad too, I took him to get frozen yogurt on Friday night. The rescue knew how bad I felt too, so they gave me a 9 week old to foster if I was ready so they last puppy I had in my house has a happy ending. It is making me feel somewhat better, even making Gus feel a bit better. She is a pistol, she dragged a stuffed dog out of the toy basket that is bigger than she is, and is having a grand old time with it.

I think that is a cute name. She is a little sweetheart. She looks small for that age but what do I know. :laughingsmile

Did you mean she came from the same little as the others. Or another littler.

MyBoyGus - June 8, 2010 01:02 AM (GMT)
She is from a different litter. She was the last one left from a litter, and a lab rescue person talked the person into giving her to lab rescue. Told him that we wouldn't pay for her, but we would find her a good home. The guy looked at our website and gave her to us. She is actually bigger than the litter I had last week.

:smiling: She looks like a total sweetheart... Glad that she is helping you & Gus feel better.

I am renaming the little girl Vampira, as she takes great pleasure in sinking her needle sharp teeth into your hand, or arm, or foot, or whatever is available. She is being a typical puppy, but OUCH.

Ouch is right. That hurts. I have scares on my arm from Chloe. Let me know what you do to change that little problem. Chloe is getting alot better tho.

Yelling damn you does work. :laughingsmile I know thats not nice but it hurts.

Ahhhh, the joys of puppy teeth. Those wounds heal a lot faster that your heart. Glad she's helping you and Gus while you're helping her. I love all the pictures you post of all your fosters.

Carol, Chloe hurts, but it nothing like needle sharp puppy teeth. I usually grab the muzzle and say "No bite" and then ignore them. It works sometimes with the older kids. But young puppies are teething and though they don't bite as hard, it really hurts. Even their nails are sharp.

That's true. I can't believe that Gus isn't growling at this girl. She is being pretty respectful towards Gus though, smart girl. :laughingsmile

Just thinking of you. There is a male yellow lab across the street. He came from no where so now we are waiting for animal control to come. He just went up to the kids and made himself at home. I gave them the food because they don't have a dog. SO he sits there just wishing someone would come out and play.

Its to hot but he has shade. I hope someone is looking for him. He is a sweet boy but doesn't like a leash around his neck. He freaked out. I wish they would hurry up. He wants to come in my yard.

OOOPS, undate. They just took the poor boy. Wish him well.

MyBoyGus - June 13, 2010 09:15 PM (GMT)
Sounds like he had a home before. I wish him well. Cayenne is still here, they wouldn't let me take her to adoption day today. Puppies can cause a frenzy sometimes. Everybody wants them because they are cute and they don't realize that you have to be home often to let them out, so you get people who are gone 8 hours or more a day wanting a 3 month old puppy. The rescue is picky about peop0le with that kind of schedule, they have to have plans for somebody to come let them out and play with them a bit if they are gone that long. In other words, a puppy is not an impulse adoption. I haven't gotten any calls about her yet. I'm really surprised.

Rusty's mom - June 14, 2010 03:26 AM (GMT)
I am so glad your rescue is like that. I have heard my neighbors say they got the puppy for their granddaughter who is 5. Those people next door to me have had 10 dogs die in the 4 years they have been here. Just makes me sick to watch.

I am surprised no one has called on her. She is a little doll. I agree with you. They have to have someone home.

Little Vampira is still with me. I am still amazed at how patient he has been with her. Holly too, I think they are both hoping if they don't pay attention to her she will go away. :laughingsmile

Gus is such a handsome boy. Holley is really trying to put up with the puppy. Good dogs. She is sooo pretty. Look at the size of Gus and how small she is next to him.

Great pictures. :hugsmiley

She is only about 15 lbs. She managed to get down a flight of steps on her own. She is a baby. Only 11 weeks old. She still has a lot of growing to do.

MyBoyGus - June 17, 2010 01:28 AM (GMT)
Cayenne got adopted tonight. She went to a very nice family with 2 teenage kids.
