Wow, small litter, but how cute are those pups? Of course, it is a little soon to be able to tell how cute they are, you will have to wait a few weeks. Congratulations, I'm happy you are getting a new pup.

My first dog was a boy and I swore, never never again.
Then I also swore, never ever a dog again.
Here I am with 3 dogs, one of them a boy :laughingsmile
You will adore him anyway, I wouldn't mind if I found a male Golden puppy on my doorstep tomorrow :laughingsmile
Wish you a lot of succes waiting for him to come home, it looks endless now!

I've noticed a few comments on here before that the boys can be a bit more affectionate (and the girls a bit more independent) towards their people but it's hard to imagine since all my girls were very close with me (especially Harley). My daughter has a male golden who is very well behaved and very good with people but he likes to spend more time outdoors. He is only 2 though so that may change as he gets older. Any thoughts everyone? What do you prefer and why?

Boys & girls are different - I like both... HAHA!!
Boys - clowns, teddy bears, idiots. Seriously... they get into more trouble than the girls. But yet they are so funny, you forgive everything. Rambunctious as youngsters but wonderful when fully matured. Ok, I am still waiting for Davidson to grow his other half of his brain. I hope it sprouts soon! LOL!!
Girls - ah well... bitches, at least mine is. She can be headstrong and manipulative. I find the girls more calm and better behaved with kids and other dogs. If you need a dog to win over a sceptic - send the girl to do the job. She has her ways...

How exciting! We've only had boys, but I agree with Mole. Boys can be the life of the party, but the girls are more focused and determined. Otto is a royal pain right now, but so was Norman at six months. He'll outgrow everything and be such a love. At 52 pounds, I hope he outgrows things soon!

congratulations on your new puppy!!!! I've only had boy goldens, but from my point of view they are all loveable! my miller would snuggle all the time and mason he loves to give hugs. he puts his head on your shoulder and just cuddles as long as you want him too. good luck with your new puppy........ cant wait to see more pictures!

You got it spot on there Mole!! Alfie is a big cuddley bear, but he is very well behaved & always has been. You only have to tell him once if he does something wrong & he will never do it again. He just wants to please us, but worries so much about it sometimes I feel sorry for him. I will always have boys after having him. My last boy was a LabX & he was also vey affectionate, but very naughty. He probably needed more training than I gave him though.
Congratulations Donna!! Can't wait to see more of your boy. :clap

Thanks for the replies. I'm very happy that I'll soon have a golden to share life with again. I know that it will be some work going through all the training again but it is so worth it and I'm looking forward to it. I'll let you all know what I think of "boys" about 6 or so months from now just when he gets to the toddler stage! :laughingsmile
