Wow, thats one mess of snow!!! I love the pictures. Especially of the dogs loving it. Only dogs could love that much snow. Looks like we are finally going to get a blast of winter here. They are saying up to 10 inches starting Tuesday into Wednsday. Rookie will get lost in that much snow!!

Blimey!!! I have never seen so much snow!! The one of the gate really shows its depth. The dogs look like they are loving it though except this one:

He
doesn't look impressed at all!!! :laughingsmile
Like Emma said I don't think UK would cope. We shut down when its just a few inches!

So do we in DC. This storm started Friday at noon, and we are still digging out. The schools and the government are closed, and I just heard the updated weather this morning and we are supposed to get another 5-10 inches tomorrow. I don't know where we are going to put it when it is time to shovel. I need to take care of my mom today, she is running out of things. I just talked to her, and I will take her to the store so she can get what she wants. Right now, she wants to get out of the house. We are getting a bit of cabin fever here. I would have picked things up for her and dropped it off, but getting out sounds good to her. She does pretty well for being 79, and she has good neighbors.

:ph43r: Oh I would hate that. I get cabin fever also when it rains so hard. We got alot of that. Be careful out there. Poor dogs. That one with it up to his head doesn't look to happy about it. I'm going to stop complaining now that I saw that. :laughingsmile

Ugh, and the latest forecast for tomorrow night and Wednesday is another foot of snow. That would be a major snowstorm just by itself, but on top of what we have now, I just don't even want to think about it. I got my mother, we went to the grocery store and out to lunch. She was so happy to get out of the house. so she got what she wanted, and we both got out of the house. The roads are passable, but her neighborhood is really bad. I have to go out and shovel a little more, while the sun is out. It isn't above freezing, but the sun is making the snow a little softer.

How do the dogs cope. My 2 would drive me crazy if they didn't get their walk every day!! It doesn't even matter that we are slipping sliding everywhere they still pull us towards that beach! Hubs slipped & landed on his back the other day, but he still kept hold of Alfie's lead!!! :laughingsmile

Awesome pictures Mel. I'm sorry that it is causing you so much work though and it can be difficult taking care of our aging parents when a storm like that hits. The last snowflake hasn't hit the ground when we get a call from my husband's dad saying "when are you coming to dig me out?". He forgets that we have to dig ourselves out first! :laughingsmile The storms are beautiful but they can also be dangerous. We have been hit by two ice storms over the last few years and lost electricity for a few days with each - needed to hook up a generator to heat up the house so our pipes wouldn't freeze & burst. Yep - it looks like your area will get the jackpot again. We are only due for about 3-6 inches. :shrug

I've been getting Gus out, not very far on Saturday, but he got out. Yesterday and today, I took Gus out to go tubing with my friends and his friends. We can get out tomorrow, but now, we are supposed to get 8-12 more inches of heavy, wet snow, and it is supposed to be windy.
I called my mother up tonight and told her what the forecast was, she has power now, but no TV, her cable is down. I am planning to go get her tomorrow before the snow starts in case she loses her power again. I told her I don't want her to call me after the storm starts again and tell me she lost power when I can't get out to get her. The power lines around me are underground, so we don't usually lose power. So we'll listen to the weather tomorrow, and decide if she should come up here or not.

Donna, actually the worst of this storm is supposed to his between Philadelphia and New York, but it would be a major snow storm for us even if we hadn't just had the weekend storm, and on top of the weekend storm it is going to be bad.

The latest prediction I heard is 15-24 inches, it should start snowing around noon here. My mother is worried that her sunroom roof will collapse because of the additional weight, the sunroom has a flat roof. When I go pick her up I will see if she wants any of the furniture moved out of that room.
Donna, you should get some of this storm, it is going up the east coast. If we get another big one, I think everything is shut down for the rest of the week. I'll post more if I don't lose power, hopefully I won't. I promise I will never say I want snow in the winter again, usually that means 1 6-10 inch snow. This winter it meant 3 20+ inch snow storms. This winter will go down as the snowiest winter ever in the record books for the DC area. I think we will be snowed in for another 2 days. So Gus and I will have some company for the next few days, my mother and her boxer Dixie.

:hugsmiley I'm watching you on the news. This year is just terrible for all of you. Glad you have your mom with you. Eat lots of popcorn and keep warm.
