Title: Woo Hoo, Great Adoption Day Today

We adopted out 18 dogs just today at the adoption day. There were a few others that were adopted out this weekend. Way to go!

I was handling a 20 month old boy named Kit. He was chocolate and just about the sweetest, most loving boy you can ever imagine meeting. He loved everbody, he had to jump up and give them all a kiss. And he had the bestest lab lean ever. He did get adopted today, although it took a bit longer than I thought it would because he is heartworm positive and still needs to be treated. So I had a great experience this morning!

Here is Kit

Sometimes. I am still getting weekly emails about Lilah who is now Maggie. She is doing GREAT with her new family. She is so lucky, this family is probably one of the few families that could have handled her. And some of them, we never hear another word about. It depends. I didn't foster him, so I'm not emotionally invested with him, I just really liked the boy. The President of the rescue came up to say hi to him, and he jumped up and planted big kisses on her face. Her response was "What a great dog!". She really liked him too.

He almost went with a 2 year old female, they really liked each other. But he will have to be kept relatively quiet while he is being treated for the heartworms. So he will be down for about 6 weeks. The woman was worried because her dog likes to play hard. I think it would have been a great match other than that. The people who adopted him had come right from church, and had on a really nice wool coat. I warned him when he came up that he would probably get jumped on and might get his good clothes muddy and wet. The guy said "That's OK". He didn't care at all, he just wanted to be loved by Kit. I decided that he was a good guy at that point. :laughingsmile

Mel, that makes me feel so good to hear that so many got adopted. I wish that would happen here. It is so out of control here.

Kit is just beautiful. I wish them all the very best.

Thanks for what you do.
