Title: My Graduation

Emma&Tilly - November 13, 2008 09:25 PM (GMT)
Just wanted to share some pictures of my graduation...although I have done it before for my undergraduate degree this one was all the more special as it was for completing my Certificate of Education, and by golly was it hard work!! It was probably the hardest, most intensive year of my life (as I had been told it would be!) and there were times when I didn't think I would be able to finish it (or I didn't think the pile of essays would get done more like it!) Although I am not working as a primary teacher yet I have an interview on Monday so hoping that I won't be unemployed for much longer...although I did find out today that one of my best friends from the course has an interview for the same job!! Anyway, hope you don't mind me sharing some pictures!! It was a looooong day!!

I was so excited when I heard the graduation ceremony would be in York Minster, it is the most beautiful building...

Congratulations! I know it was a lot of hard work, but we knew you could do it. And what a beautiful place for your ceremony - breathtaking. I'm sure your interview went well. Keep us posted...

Emma&Tilly - November 18, 2008 11:48 AM (GMT)
Hi, thanks...yep the interview did go well but I didn't get it  In my feedback she said I had the strongest lesson of the day (we had an observed lesson) and a did a 'very good' interview and it was between me and another candidate...one question let me down apparently, and it is such a small thing I can't even believe it swung it for them but oh well...I'll keep trying...

GoldenMom - November 18, 2008 02:54 PM (GMT)
Oh Emma! Congratulations BIG time!!!! What a beautiful place to graduate, those pictures are gorgeous! Sorry you didn't get the job but as I've said before, there is a special job waiting for you, it will just take a little time to find it. Give those 2 furbabies a hug from us here in Chicago and a big hug for you too!

Emma&Tilly - November 18, 2008 03:50 PM (GMT)
oh thank you Lynn...I was really down about it all this morning but am feeling great now...I just came back from one of the schools I did my training at (as I borrowed some resources from them for my interview yesterday) and it appears I had a narrow escape with that job...apparently the Headteacher is not very nice as most of the staff had heard 'of' her and a couple had done supply work at the school and said she is a complete nightmare to work for and I was very lucky that I didn't get it! So I had this huge feeling of relief! I have another interview on Thursday although it isn't ideal as it is a job where I would move round lots of classes so isn't really the set up I am looking for...but a job is a job I guess!

GoldenMom - November 18, 2008 04:24 PM (GMT)
See Emma, its a good thing that you didn't get that job! God is looking out for you! The one you are going for next may not be ideal but it may lead you to one that is! Good luck and hugs to all!
