Title: Another Busy Weekend Up
Description: My mother's dog and 2 puppies

I think I have lost my mind. My mother had asked me if I could keep her dog tonight as she has plans tonight and tomorrow morning. So she is here now. She asked me a long time ago, and I sort of forgot about it. In the meantime, I told the rescue that I would take a 6 month old this weekend. Oops. Well, adoption day is tomorrow morning, and the female had just been spayed yesterday, so I figured no problem, she will be in the crate most of the time because she isn't supposed to run around. So the foster will be in the crate most of the time.
I didn't post about it because plans constantly change in the rescue and half the time you plan on getting one dog, and get a different dog. So cut to today. Now I am getting 2 boys, a 4 month old and a 5 month old, both of whom were neutered yesterday. They thought they had people lined up for at least one of them, and possible both, but the families were too busy and couldn't make today, and there haven't been any calls from any other adoption coordinators. So it looks like I am getting both of them.
So tonight, besides Gus and Eddie, I will have my mother's dog Dixie (who can be a bit of a grouch at times), possibly Holly will be here for a while, and the 2 pups. They named them Hal and Owen because it will be halloween soon. Feel free to groan at that, I sure did. Let you all know how it turns out and I'll try to get some pics.

Oh my goodness, Mel ----- BLESS YOU!!!!! I'm not sure I would be up to handling all that at one time! Yep, a groan was said at those names. Hopefully whoever gets those boys will change their names!
Have fun!

I'm getting ready to yell UNCLE! Hal is the 4 month old yellow male. He is very very sweet and seems to be very good with the other guys. Owen is the 5 month old black boy. They are both very sweet, but I have been told that Owen is a humper and neither Gus or Holly will put up with that. They played for 8 hours straight before they came over, so we decided that it was time that they took a break, so they went straight into the crate to take a rest, and also to give Gus and Eddie a chance to get used to them. They are just starting to settle down now, after about 2 hours. Getting them both into the crate was a struggle, I'd put one in and the other would get out. I let Hal run around while I was getting Owen in, and he got along well with everybody. I finally got them both into the crate. Eddie wants to play with them, so he has been running around and play bowing to the crate and barking at them, and they bark back. Owen seems to like to bark just for the heck of it.
Shhhhhh, they are finally asleep now. Eddie is asleep too. I would have kept them out of the crate if it wasn't for my mother's dog Dixie. She is older, and can be a dominant bitch, so I don't want to put her through that. I'm going to have to separate them to feed them in the morning because I have been told that Owen is a pig and a bit of a bully with food, so I will have to feed them separately. Owen is a bit underweight so I'm sure that he will have a big appetite until he catches up. I'm sure that Hal will be adopted tomorrow, and Owen most likely will be too. Tomorrow morning I will put Dixie in the crate for a little while and let the boys run around to get some energy out before the adoption day. So cute, Hal woke up and is laying on top of Owen right now. I'm glad I have a gigantic crate.

I'm getting ready to go but I'll post more about this morning. Lets just say that Eddie and the pups are having a great time. Gus and Dixie are not what I call happy about it. It usually takes a while for Gus to interact much with new fosters, and he really doesn't like 2 at once. So its been interesting to say the least. But Eddie seems happy.

Wow you really sound like you have your hands full Mell, you must have the patience of a saint! :clap They sound like great little boys, I hope they get a good home soon.

Ugh, I just typed a really long reply, and I lost it.
Suffice it to say that both boys got adopted. Hal went to a family with 3 kids and Owen went to an older couple who really seemed to know what they were getting into. So another succesful foster.
And I found out today that a very famous national political analyst/political commentator has applied for a dog with the rescue. I thought that was pretty cool, if I told you the name, you would recognize it instantly.
