Hey all :wavesmiley We got another foster and her name is Sarah. We had her pulled from a shelter in North Carolina and transported to us. She was thought to be real old as they listed her as 14 years old but our vet said she is only about 5. She just has a lot of health problems. She was a strong HW positive, had sarcoptic mange, flea allergies and just a nasty skin infection. She also has dry eye so she will have to be on drops the rest of her life along with thyroid meds each day. She is going through heartworm treatment now and was treated for the mange and skin infection.

Her hair is now starting to come back in as she was so bald when we first got her. You will see from the pics and her poor tail that it is coming back and that her back end is where she had lost the most hair. She is such a sweet girl and sleeps a lot but that is a good thing. She has not had one accident so I am very proud of her. She gets along great with all the other pups here and is a great fit for us. I can't wait to see how she is going to look once all her hair comes back. I will post more pics of her once she gets her full coat.

Awwww, poor girl. Thats a lot of problems for anybody to go through. I get so upset with people who don't give heartworm prevention in the heartworm areas. It is so easy to prevent and such a nasty thing to treat.

Oh I tell you Sarah is such a good girl. I lucked out this time with no potty training for her or Dylan...LOL I am sure we will find great home for them both soon enough. We don't have the fast turn around like you though Mel....not sure why on that. My last 2 Hunter and Sultan I had for almost 7 months each.

Sadly it is pups with heartworms that we get mostly. Here in the south it is a must year around. I agree with you Mel so easy to prevent but so many do not....makes me so mad too that these poor pups have to go though treatment due to neglect. :angrysmiley2

Well, I'm up in the DC metro area, and we have adoption days all over the area, at least one a month and sometimes 2. So we probably have a higher density of people up here. We get a lot in with heartworm too, and I just want to :spanksmiley smack them (the owners, not the dogs). I think my longest foster was about 4 months.

Gus would take exception to that, Gus was my foster too. He has been along longest, except for Moe. He is one of Holly's neighbors. So it was Moe, Gus, Holly, and Eddie. They teased me at one point about populating the neighborhood. :laughingsmile
