Title: Here Are The 3 Fosters I Picked Up This Week!

goldengirls - January 12, 2008 07:55 PM (GMT)
Here are the 3 fosters that I picked up from the same shelter this week in the town I work in. The first is Sulton and I picked him up Wednesday from the vets where they started his heartworm treatment. He is just so sweet and I just love his face. He is about 1 1/2 to 2 years old and 65 lbs.

The next one is Jake with the golden eyes and what a beauty he is. He is about 1 to 1 1/2 years old and 47 lbs. He needs to put on some weight and will soon. He is just so funny and curious about everything.

The last is Molly and she is just adorable. She is about the same age as Jake and she only 43 lbs. She is a wiggle butt and wiggles that butt all the time when she sees you.

I took Jake and Molly yesterday to our director as I still have my other 3 fosters here. Having 9 here for 2 days was a lot. I had to keep them here though till I could take them to the director in another town. I will keep Sulton here for now since we do not have another foster home for him and we are so full.

I took more pics of them and they should be on the site soon. It is midlandsgoldenrescue.org if you want to take a peek...

Wow, they are all gorgeous!! Sultan looks like he may be a bit of a mix, but it could just be the picture. Wow, 9 dogs at 1 time. Carol (Rusty's Mom) knows how you feel.

Yes Mel Sultan could be or either it is poor breeding which is the case a lot of the time. You can really never know for sure when they are strays from shelters. He and the other 2 are just adorble though I think...shoot I want to keep them all as always...LOL

Oh how pretty they are. I hope they get wonderful homes.

Oh yes I know how it is to have 9 dogs. I don't feel like I have 9 dogs. They are very well behaved. Except when they take the whole bed. :laughingsmile

It does shock people who would like to get into our yard. :ph43r:

All is going well with the fosters. Sultan the one I am fostering here is such a sweetie pie. He wants to play so bad but I have to keep him quite while going though his heartworm treatment. He still has a few weeks to go. He gets lots of treats and peanut butter filled kongs to keep him happy.

Our director that has Jake says he may be part white tail deer the way he prances and hops around...LOL I have not heard on Molly but imagine she is doing just fine in her foster home.

My gosh Rusty's Mom so you have 9! How wonderful for you. Mine are all well behaved too it is just bringing new pups in all the time to foster that takes up a lot of my time in getting them settled. It is odd that it is always the fosters that has been here for awhile that are not so nice to the new foster. My own pups have no problem with them...weird  I just tell them hey you were new not too long ago there buddy...LOL

Miller's Mom oh I want to keep them all too! I do cry when they leave and feel awful for days missing them. That is the only downside I see in fostering...hard on the heart. Mel I am sure you know what I am talking about on that and all the fosters you have had.

MyBoyGus - January 21, 2008 01:15 AM (GMT)
Yes, I know what you are talking about. When I started, they told me that there were some that you would cry when they leave, and some you just couldn't wait to get out of the house. I have found both to be true. :laughingsmile

I'm supposed to be getting a 1 year old tomorrow. She is supposed to be good with other dogs, and she got adopted the day she came in to us. But the new owner brought her back and said that she and her male had gotten into it. They want me to take her to assess her, and because I have 2 submissive males and they want to test her with males. So I will have to be keeping an eye on her when they are loose. I hope it works out because Eddie will love it. Sometimes I wonder about their logic, giving me a girl who they aren't sure gets along with the boys to somebody who has 2 boys.

I'll let you know how it goes.

I agree Samme, it is because MyBoyGus is so good with furbabies
Who else could give a good assesment and train her. Beside, Gus would show her who is boss :laughingsmile

Oh I got to go look at the girl you got in a minute but wanted to answer here first. I was asked once to also take a male that had came back twice to see what was the problem with him. I did decline though since I have 2 seniors and having so many here I felt it would not be the best situation. Alex is toy and food aggressive and was learning to be better. He loved Hunter but they would get into it. My gosh when the people came to pick between him and Hunter they got into it and poor Hunter got a puncture wound just below his eye.....that is why Alex had to go to a home that he would be the only pup. The fight was over a toy and not knowing the father was baiting both with it in so many words as they were right there together.

I think Alex being a stray for so long he just had to fight for what little he was getting out there. He was skin and bones when I got him. He really is a sweet boy though and for the most part was great with all of mine except for a few times but stopped immediately when he heard me yell his name to stop.

Our director says it is always a female that is the leader in a pack. It is good your boys are layed back as I bet she will want to be the alpha female. Now let me go see what you say about your new foster....
