Title: Another New Foster...hunter
goldengirls - December 22, 2007 09:01 PM (GMT)
Here is my new foster puppy Hunter that I pulled Thursday from the same shelter that I pulled Alex from for Midlands Golden Rescue. He is about 7 months old and just a sweet little angel. I am happy to say that he is heartworm negative so he will be put right up for adoption. He is very timid right now as I do not think he has ever been inside house. He has not had one accident though so I am very proud of this smart little boy. Here are some pics of my adorable foster boy...I think it is cute the way he still has some of his puppy fur around his head....LOL
Merry Christmas everyone!!!!

Oh, how cute he is! He will get adopted quickly.
I don't know about you, but I have found that dogs that were kept outside are easier to housetrain than some others. To them, outside is the right place to go, you only have to train them to let you know when they have to go.
My rescue called me today, I told them that I could take a foster over Christmas week, they lose so much kennel space because of paying customers that I wanted to help them out. I got a call this morning about the girl that they want me to take, but I haven't heard anything since. They said that this girl needs a "strong" foster, meaning not physically strong, but an experienced foster. They said that the girl is good with dogs, and is an owner give-up who is housetrained and crate trained but very little obedience training. She is 12 months. I suspect that her main problem is that the family didn't get her enough exercise, she was an only dog. Eddie will take care of that aspect of things, with a 12 month old and a 13 month old, I will only have to sit back and watch and they will exercise each other. :laughingsmile I'm going away next weekend, so I can't keep her beyond then. But at least the rescue will learn something about her and if she doesn't get adopted next week, it will make her easier to get adopted in the future.

Oh he is gorgous. He looks small to me, or is it just the pics. He does look timid too, but I love the "tippy head " shot. What a darling boy. :hugsmiley

OMG he is so sweet.
How old is he? He won't be homeless for long. He is adorable
I would even take him but Customs might not let me have him :shrug

Hey all! Well Hunter got neutered today and is back at home and doing fine. I had one call on him and an appointment set up for last Saturday but they never showed or called
He is doing fine and yes Mel you may have something there on those that where outside dogs doing so well with not having accidents once they are brought inside.
He really is such a sweet boy and so good for his age. Out of the 3 boys I have under 2 he is the most calm. Oh someone is going to be so lucky to get him for sure. Oh and he is about 7+ months old and weights 53.4 pounds. He is kinda small but I do think he may grow a little more. He is getting over his shyness also and loves to play and give face baths to the others... Oh I got pics of him doing that to Oliver I will post here. They are too funny...
I went Monday and picked up another golden boy from a shelter to take to the vet to start heartworm treatment. I will pick him up tomorrow. I also will pick up another boy and a girl both about 2 on Thursday. They are both heartworm negative I am happy to say. The boy does have lyme disease but that we can treat with pills. It is raining goldens here in for us. I will have to see how the boy with Lyme does here with the 6 I have here. I may have to foster him also as we just do not have enough foster homes right now. The other 2 we have a place for them for now.
I will post pics as soon as I get a chance to take pics of them....for now though here is Hunter giving Oliver a face bath....LOL

Mel here is the boy with the golden eyes I was telling you about on your new foster boys thread. I think he is just precious. I will have better pics of him once I get him here on Thursday. This picture makes me sad...

Awww, that new boy is cute too! The eyes do look a bit strange on a golden though. Maybe he has a bit of lab in him somewhere. Poor Hunter, it may be rough to keep him calm while he heals. Thats why I said I wouldn't take Jag until the weekend, I don't want him to rip his stitches out, and I know that Eddie will insist on playing with him. Good luck! You have a house full!
Holly licks Gus's ears our like that sometimes. And Eddie likes to kiss other dogs too. Eddie grew taller until he was about 11 months, maybe because he didn't exercise much when he was a baby. Now he just has to fill out. He is one tall tall boy!
