Title: Well, I Had A Foster For 1 Day Over The Weekend
Description: and she got adopted

Yea! I was really just supposed to be an overnight foster to get her to adoption day on Sunday. She was a 2 year old yellow female lab mix. She had a litter of puppies somewhere in the past, may have come from a puppy mill. Very shy around people, but warmed up pretty quick and was an attention whore. Wanted nothing but giving you kisses and getting pets. She had been stray, and she was very, very, very skinny.
She loved Eddie, and liked Gus. But you know Gus and new fosters (except for Eddie). She wasn't only skinny, she was really small. She made Eddie look HUGE. Eddie played with her on Saturday, and I think Gus was a little miffed at him, he hasn't really played with Eddie since. I'm sure things will be back to normal tonight.
I took Eddie with me to pick her up and left Gus at home. When I got back, Gus was soooooo happy to see Eddie, I think he thought that I took Eddie to adoption day. I think he was relieved when I came back with him, he hasn't figured out that Eddie is staying.
Oh, and I wouldn't have been able to keep that particular foster, she wasn't housetrained, clueless about it as a matter of fact. Eddie is just too freshly housetrained for me to keep her at my house.

Poor little mite, sounds like she has had a bad start in life. I am so glad she got adopted, I hope the rest of her life is a happy contented one. Although it sounds like the new owners have a lot of work to do!

The people who adopted have another dog about the same age. Sandy is much better with another dog around, in fact, I think it was necessary for her to go with another dog. Their dog was giving her kisses in the parking lot, and they were trying to play together, so she is good in that area. Once she warms up to you (which doesn't take long), she is good, so I'm sure she has already bonded with them.

It took a while, but he finally seems to have forgiven him, but it took until tonight. :laughingsmile
Eddie is such a clown. He is really coming out of his shell. He has this squeaky pumpkin that amazingly he hasn't ripped up yet, it is a latex toy. He carries that thing around squeaking away everywhere. He is finally learning the joys of fetching balls and his favorite toy. There are times when that toy just disapears, and he can't find it. I just can't figure out what could have happened to it. :shrug But magically, it usually turns up the next day. :laughingsmile
I was in the powder room tonight, and I closed the door. Most of my fosters hate it when the door closes, they think I am going to disapear out of the nonexistent 2nd door to the bathroom. He brought his toy over by the door and started squeaking it under the door so I would know he was there.
All of that is great progress for him, he was scared of things thrown near or towards him when I first got him, and sqeaky toys scared him. Gus still loves him to death. I'm not sure that he realizes that Eddie is staying. But Gus seems to be a much happier boy now, and is actually more affectionate than he was before Eddie came.

Awww, poor little girl! I'm glad she has a family now and hopefully her new mom will be patient with her on housetraining.
Sounds like Eddie has come leaps since he first came to you and Gus! He is learning to trust now --that's wonderful! Time for more pics!!!
