Title: The Time Has Come...
molmotta - April 3, 2007 01:15 PM (GMT)
Next show slated on 29th April 2007. Looks like I have to handle Dyna in the ring myself this time. Gosh... I'm soooooo stressed!!!
I'm so afraid that I will make her look bad... :ph43r: Its so different when you are training at home then in the ring. I just hope my nervousness will not travel all the way down the lead to her!!!

GoldenPup - April 5, 2007 03:10 AM (GMT)
Have fun! What're you working towards with her now?
GOODTIMN - April 5, 2007 06:07 AM (GMT)
WELL, WELL, WELL, NOW IS TIME FOR YOU TO GET YOUR """FEET WET"""" BUT DONT WORRY EVERY GREAT SHOW DOG OWNER SOONER OR LATER MUST TAKE THE RING WITH THEIR DOG!!!!!
REMEMBER ""DYNA"""-----""KNOWS"" WHAT TO DO, SO JUST STAY CALM, RELAXED AND TRUST IN ""DYNA"" AND YOU WILL BE JUST FINE,,,,,,,
JUST DONT """OVERHANDLE""" WHICH MEANS. DONT FORCE OR OVERSHOW HER, LET HER SHOW HERSELF, YOUR JOB IS TO JUST PACE WITH HER AND LET HER PRESENT HERSELF THE BEST SHE CAN.......
SHE IS A CHAMPION AND SHE KNOWS WHAT THE SHOW RING IS ALL ABOUT, SO TAKE A DEEP BREATH AND TAKE A GOOD LONG LOOK AT """DYNA""" AND PUT YOR TRUST IN HER AND YOU WILL BE SURPRISED OF HOW SHE WILL ""RESPECT"" YOUR JUDGEMENT AND DO HER JOB!!!!!!!!!!

OMG!!! This Sunday is just two days away.... Dyna has been shedding like crazy!!! She has lost all her undercoat, is looking real sleek... No bib, little skirt, but thank goodness that squirrel tail of hers is still hanging on for dear life...
I've basically just practised with her a few times over this week (not even everyday).. hehehe... Practised stacking her prob 3 times each day. She seems to know her job well, but I dont. :laughingsmile
Wish us luck!!!

Dyna knows what to do, (and so do you girl) you'll be great! Maybe she'll feel even more confident with Mum by her side.

For the first time since Dyna starting showing, she came home empty handed, not a single ribbon. I will not lie. I am disappointed. I know I shouldnt be. But I am. Somehow I feel that its is my fault. I didnt do my "job" properly. Its my first time as a handler in the ring. Butterflies got the better of me.
First show - we couldnt get it together. She wouldnt pose. She seems to know from the first moment we stepped into the ring the judge didnt like her. She refuse to trot, she was distracted by the photographer lurking on the sides. Judge was looking totally unimpressed. :moonsmiley
Second show - we were both more serious. She stacked easily was focused. We ran round the ring easily, she was looking at me. I thought we nailed it!! The Judge took an awfully long time to decide between Dyna and the bitch behind us. He finally awarded to the other bitch.
Ah well, its a lesson well learnt. Handling is TOUGH WORK!!! A challenge to work harder next time.

Chalk it up to experience Mole :hugsmiley
Like you said, Dyna felt unsettled by distractions and even a vibe from the judge. And without sounding totally cliche, you cant win them all!
You both get gold stars from us ! :thumbsupsmiley
Good on you for giving it your best.
