Title: Princess
Description: A very scared little girl
MyBoyGus - March 28, 2007 04:53 AM (GMT)
As I mentioned in my Donald post, I am getting another foster tomorrow, she is a 6 month old lab/golden mix and is scared to death in the shelter. Here is hoping that Gus can work his dog whisperer magic.

Oh the poor little love. She reminds me of my old LabX Buster & now we know Goldens we are sure there was some Golden in him. He always seemed scared, he would run with his bum down & his tail between his legs as if we were always beating him!! :shrug We had him from 6weeks old & gave him nothing but love.....oh & lots of food :laughingsmile
I am sure Gus will fall for this little princess, especialy as she has Gold in her, he will know that! :hugsmiley

Well, she is actually a shepard mix. Everybody was going by those pics, but you can't see her tail in the pic. Her tail has a lot of black in it. She is a very sweet girl, and she absolutely loves Gus (who wouldn't) :laughingsmile She really wants to play with him, and is following him around without her tail tucked. She has given me kisses on the hand and arm, and come and stood between my knees to get pets, so she is warming up a bit. But I can't get her to eat.

She has come out of her shell thanks to Gus. She slept with me last night and she eventually ate. She is wagging her tail now, and coming up for lots of pets. She also came up for belly rubs. She is really a sweet little girl, just really scared. Gus has played with her, but gently. He knows. Gus is the dog whisperer. She will be going to a mixed shepard rescue on Saturday. Lab Rescue told me I could leave her at the shelter for them to pick her up, but she is sooooo scared I just couldn't do it. She needed to get into a home environment. I am definitely recommending that she go with another dog, it would have taken her much, much longer for her to come out of her shell without Gus.

How wonderful you and Gus are for helping this cute little lady. Gus always seems to know that right thing to do with each dog you bring home.

Gus is so sensitive-it's wonderful to hear about.
I hope she finds a perfect forever home-poor thing-she looks so scared in those photos. Glad to hear she's eating. You are just great to do what you do!

Oh its a shame she has to go to another shelter, she will be scared again. Can't you keep her until a home is found for her? She sounds such a sweet little thing. Good boy Gus for looking after this little princess. :hugsmiley

Sue,
She is going to another rescue, not another shelter. Lab Rescue won't place her, she most likely doesn't have any lab in her. There is another rescue to take her, so I feel OK about it.
Thanks for the good wishes!
