Title: Dyna's Show Debut
Description: - the gripes and the boasts!!

molmotta - May 7, 2006 02:12 PM (GMT)
For some unknown reason to me, the Singapore Kennel Club always holds two shows back to back each time. So this is the 150th and 151st Championship dog show. There are different judges for each show, the gundog group is judged by an Australian judge for the 150th and a Philippines judge for the 151st.

I had my first taste of dirty ring politics in the 150th show. So the rule says "Dont be a bad sport and grouse at the judge." @#^$$@ :grrrsmiley Oh.. I wish there is a smiley here that matches my opinion of her!

I'm no expert BUT this cow-hocked, "east-west" forequarters pup got Best Puppy in Breed????? My handler was so disgusted!! We did not expect anything from this judge because its well known that Australian judges will favour Australian/English type goldens. But this was outright dirty... There were much better looking puppy dogs in the class and she didnt even run her hands over the pup as thoroughly as she did the others!! Thank goodness she didnt give the Best Puppy in Show to this pup!! I think there would be a riot!!!

Okay... to happier stuff...

In the 150th show... only two entries in Breed Puppy Bitch. Dyna took second place. :laughingsmile She was hyper during her walk, jumping everywhere!! Handler said she was too playful and he needs to do more warmup on her for the next show.

Here's the judge walking over to inspect Dyna even before the handler could stack her... :playballsmiley

Handler and breeder kept telling us not to lose heart... that's its all in the game.

In the 151st show... Two entries in Breed Puppy Bitch. Dyna got FIRST and a Challenge Certificate!! :clap user posted image

Getting Dyna into position for inspection...

Posing for showdown... The other pup is from a pretty well-known OZ kennel and has Camrose blood. Look at my baby's face!! She's so serious about doing better this time.

This is where my confusion starts. I was busy peering into the camera and we were so far away that we didnt know what went pass us after that. Hubs insists that she went against the class winners for BOB, the BOB went to a veteran (who incidentally is pretty closely related to Davidson) and she got Reserve Best of Breed. I thought she got Reserve Best Puppy in Breed. But if she had gone against the veteran, than it should be BOB? Our handler is from Thailand and his English is very limited, so we couldnt really understand from him either. Our breeder was not around to see what happened so he's not sure too what she won! :laughingsmile

Anyway, she went on to compete for Best Puppy in Group but didnt get anything.

Think she got spooked by a male lab behind her during the run around the ring because she suddenly jumped around and face the lab. Sigh... some people have no ring manners. There was this one male lab that kept sniffing Dyna's butt and had to be told off by our handler many times.

Oh yes... this is the Doby that my breeder got this handler to help him complete his Singapore Championship. He got Best of Breed, Best in Group for both shows. Not sure if he got anything in Best in Show because I left as my baby was soooooo tired and hungry.

Oh well... we survived our first show. She's all pooped out now...

:clap Yay! Well done Dyna!! She looked beautifull!! I got a bit confused with all the classes, but she did good didn't she? :laughingsmile

I thought Dyna was a Australian/English type golden. She looks a lot like Alfie & most of the Goldens in UK looks like that. :shrug

:clap :clap :clap YEA DYNA!!!!! :clap :clap :clap

We are all soooooo proud of you girl! You look soooooo good out there in the ring.

It gets really confusing because it goes soooooooo fast! If you don't keep both eyes on the ring at all times then you miss something and the confusion sets in! She did really good though. Most first timers in the ring don't get ANY ribbons!

YOU DID WONDERFULLY :clap :clap

HMMM WHAT CAN I SAY BUT -----WELCOME TO THE POLITICAL DOG SHOW WORLD,,,, :laughingsmile

ILL NEVER FORGET MY BITCH WHO NEEDED TO WIN FOR HER CH. ""LOSING"" TO AN OLD GRUBBED OUT FARMER TYPE OLD MAN THAT HAD HIS BITCH ON A PEICE OF ROPE (she did not merit this win at all, believe me) AND TOTALLY SHE SUCKED AND TALK ABOUT A PLACE ABOUT TO RIOT.. HMMMMM IMMEDIATELY THE JUDE DISSAPEARED AND TO THIS DAY I JUST WONDERED HOW MUCH THAT JUDGE GOT PAID HMMMMM

THE NEXT SHOW MY BITCH FINISHED HER CH. IT WASNT LONG AFTER THAT AND AFTER 15 YRS IN THE CONFORMATION RING (with a well know prof. handler) I LEFT THE CONFORMATION RING, ID HAD ENOUGH OF THE BULL$#%@

SO YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA DYNA, KEEP YOUR HEADS AND TAILS UP AND KEEP GOING!!!

GoldenMom - May 8, 2006 12:53 PM (GMT)
Yeah Sam - I think we have all been there at one time or another, although how a judge could put up a dog being gaited on an old rope is really suspiscious!

One time in Dakota's early days of showing I entered the ring with him and I can honestly say he was as good or better than any other dog in the ring. When it came time for the judge to "go over" Dakota he barely even looked at him and never even laid a hand on him. After we came around I watched pretty closely and noticed this judge only looked at the dogs that were being shown by prof. handlers! I was devestated but learned a valuable lesson that day. PICK YOUR JUDGES CAREFULLY!!! :laughingsmile

Sues, Dyna is from American lines. All the other goldens that participated were all Australian imports. Dyna was the only locally bred pup. Funny thing was, all the other pups were cream and she was the only gold coloured pup!! She almost looked like she didnt belong there!! :laughingsmile She looked so different, smallest and coloured!!

Aye!!! Lesson learnt, but it was still interesting to witness such things first hand. I just couldnt imagine it being so blatant.

I'm right now just waiting for confirmation on what she won and did she get pointed! :laughingsmile Gosh, I really feel so stupid when people ask me what did she win. "Just a bunch of ribbons"

kristyrenee - May 8, 2006 04:35 PM (GMT)
Oh that's too cool! Good job Dyna....however, if I was the judge you'd have gotten 1st place!

Emma&Tilly - May 8, 2006 11:12 PM (GMT)
Yep! First place from me tooo! She looks great out there!! Its weird that she was the only 'golden' golden there! At least she stands out from the crowd! Well done Dyna, we are all so proud of you!!

molmotta - June 16, 2006 03:50 AM (GMT)
:laughingsmile Ok... I finally got confirmation from the SKC. Dyna got 10 points in the last show!! :clap She needs 60 points to get her CH.

Next show... July 2nd, 2006! Wish us luck!

kristyrenee - June 16, 2006 01:17 PM (GMT)
Very cool....good luck Dyna!! I know you can do it!!

GoldenMom - June 16, 2006 01:25 PM (GMT)
That's great Mole! If you figure she can get 10 points at each show you only have 5 more to go! Of course not all of them will turn out to be a winner but we can dream, can't we?

Jasmine's breeder has a male, Victor, that is a very dark reddish color. Dick calls Victor an "opps." I call him gorgeous! He is perfect in all ways ---- bone structure, carriage, gait, you name it, Victor has it! He is being campaigned here in the states right now. Dick told me that they have to put him in twice as many shows because of his color. Most judges won't put up a very dark Golden, even though he is well worth putting up. Politics in the ring ------- AGAIN!

July 2nd ---- we'll be waiting to hear about Dyna's wins! See, I have no doubt she will win!

Good luck Dyna!!! I didn't even know there was that many drama in dog shows

Emma&Tilly - June 16, 2006 03:23 PM (GMT)
OOh beautiful Dyna did so well in her first show! Im sure the others will be just as sucessful for her, she will get there!! Good luck dyna, and Moley keep us posted!

kristyrenee - June 16, 2006 03:44 PM (GMT)
Ok, I just went back and looked at the very first picture of the golden that won best in breed....does it have a leg deformity or is it just me? HOW could that golden win when it looks like it's front and back legs are deformed?? I don't get it??

That's ring politics... Sigh... Now I truly understand what Goodtimn says when she said she's had enough of the politics. I'm so glad I can go to the show and come back here to rant and bitch! :laughingsmile

Victor sounds like Dyna's breeder's dream dog!! He's been looking for a dark golden male to complement his breeding programme. :laughingsmile He's not having much luck as he's complaining that most US breeders not willing to even talk to him because they think that all chinese eat dogs!! :bangheadsmiley

Oh Mole! You are toooooo funny! :laughingsmile

Wow, that's great that you and Dyna are going to have a Japanese judge that you are getting such good vibes from! Can't wait to see her ribbons! I know there will be some!

I don't know how willing Dyna's breeder would be to fly here to discuss breeding to Victor, but if you think that is something he would want to embark on I will be glad to give you all Jazmine's breeder's info. You can see Victor online at

www.dichigoldens.com

Click on the name Victor on the right side of the home page. His picture is pretty but it does not do him justice. He is absolutely GORGEOUS!

Its amazing isnt it? So far away, yet we could still be "relatives" :laughingsmile

Keeping everything crossed for Dyna!! :laughingsmile

P/S : Damm girl chewed a few holes on the both her front legs' coat!! Hopefully it will be less obvious when its time to show. Or her breeder will have a lot of cover up grooming to do!! :bangheadsmiley

Wow...how she has grown into such a beautiful lady :)

Looks like she is doing incredibly well. You know one of the reasons I like agility is well...you either win or you don't. Politics suck....but as you have been told already, just pick your judges wisely and I am sure the CH is not far away :)

Go Dyna Go!
