So we are home from Thunder Bay for the Canadian Flat Coated Retriever National Specialty.
Before we went to the national we went to Smiths Falls Ontario for the shows there and then Left Kaelyn with her handler while we went to the National and he took her to Limestone Kennel Club shows.
So here we go
First the National......
I went with three dogs and we decided to leave Cuinn home. Instead we took just Meghan her daughter Shalva and her son Zachary.
Zachary didn't do anything he is a dingbat right now and at 13 months he is small and gawky but he had fun.....
Shalva also a peanuthead did take a fourth in her class and at a National that is a big deal.... She was really to small for the judge but because she has such excellent structure she put her up anyway despite the fact that she is really little. So we were pleased with that, I really didn't expect her to do anything.
Meghan took a third in Brood Bitch,,,,, once again, her size and the puppies size is an issue, the other dogs were older and bigger but Meghan took a third, what was so nice was that we could hear and see people commenting on what nice dogs and puppies my crew were as we walked by them. Just placing at a national is a big deal.
Meghan also made the cut in breed, Meghan is a petite bitch and again these judges liked larger dogs.... we really didn't expect anything.
Now for Kaelyn :::::
We went to Valley Kennel club where Kaelyn went Winners Bitch and picked up two points....... then she went on to Limestone where she again Went Winners Bitch best of opposite for another two points so she now has 9 points and is just one point from her Can. Ch. ...... Kaelyn is a very typey dog and very English so we are thrilled that she is finishing so quickly. She is very different from all the other dogs in the ring. We really didn't expect her to finish so fast but she places in every show and has a bunch of reserves and in goldens that is a big deal as there is so much competition.

Our handlers daughter also took our Kaelyn into Junior Showmanship where she won a Best Junior in Show.

I should also continue on to add that our Cuinn.......
is now
Am. Can. Ch. Wabana's American Spirit as he finished his American Championship a couple weeks ago.
So there we go.... this has been a very good couple weeks for us......
Meghans son Zachary picked up 3 points in Canada by going Winners Dog every day at the Valley Kennel Club, Shalva picked up one at those same shows. Here is Zachary with our handler.

Shalva picked up a Best of Breed for her first major a couple weeks ago by beating specials (dogs that are already champions) so at 13 months of age, Shalva needs one major to finish her Championship.

We are cranking right along.
