MUCH better!!!! Bailey looks very nice. I would maybe move her front feet a little farther back under her but other than that she looks real good. Much nicer neck - top line - much smoother with her head out. Tell your friend to keep at it and she will have her CH before you know it. It is good that she is learning handling from someone who does it themselves. Good luck and let us know how she does....

You really can't tell much from a picture. A person would need to put their hands on a dog too feel their TRUE structure. Hair can hide alot. A picture also cannot show you their movement. Looking at the picture it looks like the topline is a little roachy. Again this may not be the case considering the topline was not felt or seen when the dog moves. Does the dog have a little white around its muzzle or is it just lighter? From the pic it looks white to me.

Sydney, i totally understand what you mean about being able to put your hands on a dog, im just asking surfacely what people think...and NO there isnt a bit of white on her face, she is only 20 months old!

Why ask what people think if you are going to be defensive when they give their opinion? Don't ask a question if you can't handle the answers. OK how about this? In the pic the dog looks like any other golden.

Oh, trust me i didnt get defensive AT all, i value opinions of those in the show circuit....Seriously, this time, i wasnt at all!!~~

I was just responding to that fact that you said its hard to tell structurally what a dog is like in a picture.... I was totally aware of that, i was just asking what people thought of her stance, her porportion....that kind of thing.

WOW, take it easy...

Believe me, I am taking it easy. I refuse to sugar coat things. I am telling you what you've asked for.

Just a question, does it matter if the golden does have some white on chest? I noticed a couple I've seen walking or have met, I wondered cause they were very young dogs?

Blaze's chest is lighter than his body but not white.

Sorry to be off type, and I know nothing about showing pets, sorry. Very cute golden though :dogbark:

I never have shown a Golden in the breed ring and probably never will, and my computer wouldn't show the first pictures, but some things I have notived ... All the winning show Goldens I have seen have more and shinier coat. Also you might want to work on the bright, alert, happy expression. I personally think you get the ideal Golden expression better when the dog isn't panting, but I don't know if judges feel the same way that's just me :) Most dogs being shown have decent conformation, from what I have seen the flashy coat and the "Here I am, look at me" attitude often make the difference between a Ch and a nice dog.

I am pretty sure a white patch on the chest is a disqualification ...
